INNER MEANING OF PRAYER
Professor Alfred Luntz through
Mark Probert
3.28.1965
If Mankind knew truth
He would not be afraid
of dying
Professor Luntz: How do you do? It is my pleasure to be here with you and thank you for coming. (Small talk with audience.) Addressing a lady in the audience: Your mother is doing quite well. For a while she was confused when she arrived here and she has gotten over it now. She is now clearer in mind than she had been the last part of her life. Greetings to all and now we can start the questions.
Lady: I wanted to ask you what happens in prayer and how prayers are answered, especially when praying for somebody else and this person is healed. What actually takes place?
Prof. Luntz: You have made the creator conscious of the need. You have awakened IT with your mental thought in prayer. This is directing the creative self to do the work. It stirs the creator into conscious activity. You see, creation comes from the unconscious, the unconscious trying to become self-aware. Self-aware of ITS creation. Do I make myself clear?
Lady: Not exactly.
Prof. Luntz: I back up again and say: All of creation, the entire creative experience in toto came from the unconscious. It is not – or was not aware that IT was creating. IT is an unconscious thing, unconscious activity. Now, in speaking of the conscious and unconscious, we may have the idea that I am referring of what the human thinks of a conscious and unconscious. It is something quite different. But all I can say about it – that it is a state of awareness. In short God is not conscious until ITS creation makes Him conscious. Only man can do that. The creation called man; the brain that the human has makes the creator conscious or leave it unconscious. Am I getting anywhere yet?
Lady: I am not sure.
Luntz: In praying, as you must be aware, there are tens of millions and billions of prayers shouted in the ether every moment of daily life. Some of these prayers are answered and others are not. Why? There is a disaster in some parts of the world and many people are being killed. The survivors are praying for those who are not dead yet to be saved. Some are saved and some are not. Should we believe that a God would put a deaf ear to one person and a listening to another? Is there some sort of favoritism in the make-up of the creator which man called God? Surely not.
Those who are praying are not getting their prayers answered have not awakened the God to what they want. Have not given it conscious awareness. So IT cannot do anything and IT does not do anything. Do any of you object to this? It is very difficult to put into words.
Audience: The most important consciousness appears always when you are able to get an image, when you get your thoughts still and give it an intangible comprehension in your mind. A mental image. The reason that most religions have symbols, even the most so called ‘primitive’ ones, is not because it represents Jesus or Mary, but to have the mind stationary, to have mind firm with an image. And if this particular concentration is given direction to the force of thought, energy of thought, and if this energy is not there or given direction to, all prayers cannot help you.
Luntz: Quite so. It is called “waking up God.”
Irene Probert: Professor, when one is aware that there is a need, this is the time to pray. Because your emotions will have more power and it reaches the creative self and gives it more energy. I have experienced this because you made me aware of it. You cannot go through this day and say to yourself: Well, tonight, I say a prayer for this or that. It is too late then. That’s when the emotions are discarded.
Luntz: When you find the need for it - it is said and truly so – that life will meet all your needs. Not wants – but needs.
Audience: This is not only true with the positive words, but also with evil words. Millions of people getting killed because evil thought forms are created and this is called Black Magic. But there is also white magic. They are one and the same. Just how we use the energy.
Luntz: This is so. And few people realize this, especially the ones who have been raised in the Christian teachings. Think of God as a being who is very much aware of their wants and the same people – however – when their prayers are not answered – they are greatly grieved. And they have a sense of resentment against God because they seem to be ignored.
When I lived on Earth I was a very devout Episcopalian. My God was an Episcopalian God. I couldn’t get anything from the Catholic God although these religions lived next door from each other. Still – there is that difference in the Gods and I could not accept the Catholic God and so all my prayers went to the Episcopalian God. This way I blocked myself from many things that I thought I should have.
There is only one God. And if you understand and even know it – to be you. You are the creator. When I passed from the physical world, I had fully believed that when I did - that I find myself in heaven with God. I was a clergyman for the High Episcopalian Church and that is where I was certain to go to the Episcopalian heaven – or so I thought, when it was time to go, as I was 81 years old. I simply retired to my room, went to sleep, and the next thing I knew I was standing by my bed and looked down on my body. I was aware of my wife and two daughters in the room crying and also my life-long friend the family physician. I tried to reach my family and tell them of my condition but I could not make contact with them.
The doctor has told my wife and daughters that I was dead and he – the doctor knew about heaven what I had taught him. And I had told him to accept the blood of Jesus Christ and then he would be in heaven. So they did not suspect that I was standing in the room with them.
I didn’t suspect it either; surely my bedroom was not heaven. Then some men came into my room with a wicker basket and took me down the stairs out into the street into a carriage. Later – I went to my own funeral with my family. I suspected I had not found my way to heaven yet – but I thought to myself I have not found hell either. When I attended my funeral and I listened to my colleagues give me a eulogy. I heard many wonderful things about me – more than in any other time of my life. Then they planted me and then they went home.
For a time I sat on my grave and pondered my situation. I did not know what to do. Then I left the graveyard and roamed through old streets of London. Then some later a man spoke to me. I turned and looked at him and saw that he was actually aware of me. Then I realized he was in my world.
I had tried to contact many people in the physical world. I wanted to assure them that I was all right. I thought about going to a medium and then I remembered how I had condemned them at one time. That would have not been cricket if I tried to use them. So I gave up. But this chap greeted me and said: “Alfred, would you like to come with me? I want to show you some of the things you have missed on earth.”
This man took me all over the earth, putting me in a position where I could listen and watch the action of my fellow men. And you can well imagine that I suffered a great deal of shock and pain by watching some of the things my fellowmen would do. But I was also highly uplifted by other things my fellowmen did.
I stopped condemning! I stopped thinking the clergyman way, that a person was condemned to heaven or hell. I realized that we are all going to the same place. But we do not reach this place at the same time. Some of us become delayed along the way. What is that place? A hell? NO! It is a state of mind wherein you have the light of understanding. You are no longer concerned, not only about your welfare along the path, but no concern for any one else. You know – automatically know that creation is safe, wherever it is, wherever I am, wherever you are. You are safe and you are on the way.
To some, who feel they know something, it may appear that some seem lost, some are missing the mark one way or another. But until we become expert archers, we are not damned to miss the mark. This is natural. This is not something to be ashamed of.
Audience: That is the purpose of coming back?
Luntz: Is so. It is the purpose of life in the physical world to find us again. And we are all given as many arrows as we need. And one of these arrows – in due course – will hit the bull’s eye dead center and then we will have – what you Americans say – sprung ourselves.
You know gangsters in your country use this expression:” I need someone to spring me from prison.” No one can do this but me. I must find the way out. Now I appreciate and help that may be offered. Many can come along that will give a clue to where the buttons are that we can press and the door flies open. But we may not be able to comprehend what they are saying. Then they are no clues at all.
After I understood the nature of life, the way of things – why does this person have so little physical possessions and spiritual understanding – and over here, this person has – or seems to have all of it. There is no justice in a thing like that – I used to say. But there is justice. It is that we – as individuals – must learn to find the path. Everything we do – every experience we have, we are learning a little bit more about our nature of life.
A little bit more, there is no hurry. There would be hurry if there were a heaven or a hell. There would be a great hurry. You could get it over with and find out for certain where you are going. But fear you need not, because when you put your body down the last time, you will be in the safest hands of all. You need not be concerned, not at all. Do you have something to say to me?
Question: Could you tell us the story of creation?
Luntz: Do you mean the mechanics of it? In the beginning there was a deep darkness. Darkness meaning a vacuous state. Darkness meaning ignorance. Not knowing. no ideas. Then there came a feeling. Did you ever have a feeling but you did not know what it was? Sometimes you were getting annoyed by it. Your scientists, your modern ones and your physicists know that there is no such state as a complete vacuum. The only complete vacuum to be found is in the head of man.
In this state of feeling there are widely separated units of energy starting to pull together in a falling motion, a vortex motion. Now I think it is known by your scientists that if you have two pieces of matter anywhere in what is called space, these two objects will slowly but surely come together. Isn’t it marvelous? They may be millions of miles apart, billions maybe. How can you be billion of miles apart when you have only one thing? It takes two things to be billions of miles apart.
And so it was in creation, this desire, this sympathetic rapour, starting to pull these energy units together, As they came rushing together, they created a third condition which we may call – Light. This light before was a magnetic field, not electricity. By that I mean no positive and negative electrons. There was no alternate currents. Alternate currents are the secret of creation.
The atom is an alternating current. This created light. The light was green – if you wish to know about color. It created light, which was green. It spread in sudden violence across the vacuum, filling it. Think of that! Filling it. How full is a mere vacuum? A mere vacuum is as big and dense as one unit of energy in it. Because again there is no such thing as one unit of energy. Does this not teach you the importance of “us”, instead of “I”. Remember your country is build on the word “US.”
Question: Do you think we eventually will land an Astronaut on the Moon?
Luntz: Oh, yes. Man is going to infect the whole creation in due course. You are going to be everywhere present and physically present. How can this be? Because you are already everywhere present mentally. And whatever happens to us mentally – must do in course happen in every other way.
As we have said a few years ago, the Moon consists in part of substance quite crisp and powdery. It is silicone. And if earthman lands a machine on the Moon, he must make a choice where the substance is as hard as lava. This part of the Moon that you see from earth is largely brittle and easy to disappear into.
Audience: What will we gain by going to the Moon?
Luntz: That is a good question. But you know, if man asked himself this question at the beginning of his creativeness of the physical world, he would have done much less than he has. Because the question is always frightening.
Many people who undertake a particular task ask themselves: “What have I accomplished?” This can be depressing. For every man seeks to do and he does it out of necessity. It adds to the further understanding to the nature of his being and his creation. So part of the plan by going to the bodies in space is to find out if you have a better chance on the Moon, because the atmosphere is almost nil on the moon.
On Mars there is a little oxygen. It is close to the ground however. It is going to be the planet where man can create a proper climate for humans to live there. But such a climate cannot be created on the Moon. It has almost no water and what is there is very deep.
Question: In paying off karma do we always reincarnate on earth or can we incarnate on other bodies?
Luntz: Well, until you are familiar, until you have some experience on these planets, you cannot take a thought with you that will sufficient attract, to hold your attention when you want to be born into the matter world again. The mind is being caught up here. A very hypnotic state. The earth is the only living planet, because of the water content. Water is the life-blood of a planet.
Question: Have any other planets in our solar system been inhabited by human beings as we know them?
Luntz: No, not to my knowledge in this solar system has been inhabited by man as we know it.
Question: What about other solar systems?
Luntz: Of course. Sir, there are other solar systems in your milky way that have planets with human beings like yourself but – as I like to use the expression – a little more advanced.
Question: In going back to the moon. It has been suggested if man should go to the moon there would be a limited time where he can do this and still certain his sanity. Is there any truth to this?
Luntz: You know, the Moon suffers severe bombardment of cosmic particles and cosmic radiation of which some of it are so potent as to cause instant ionization and therefore destruction to the human body – it goes quicker. So the insanity world comes mostly from radiation and utter desolation on the moon.
Man is a gregarious being. He loves himself – meaning other humans cannot really act out his life just by himself. He goes to pieces when he is left alone, because he has not audience for his emotions.
Question: What about space people?
Luntz: These beings come from the depth of space. That is a little too complex to say because what is ‘depth of space.’ Maybe it is just beyond my nose. So we shall say ‘relative depth of space beyond your solar system.’ They are beings that dwell in and on and with a form of matter that is millions of time denser than your world. Now density does not always mean ‘solidness.’ There is what is called ‘magnetic density ‘ that is many billions of times denser or stronger, where beings live and create. But they do not create with their hands. But with their minds. They create an object that appears to the sense as an object.
Question: They can direct matter with their mind?
Luntz: Only since my time over here have I been in India and to certain mountains in India and meet with certain Yogans and Fakirs and they are all quite capable of certain mental form and objects that you demand of them. Sitting down and concentrating and using their breath. Only after coming here I cam to the realization that man is actually the creator and so I automatically lost my fear of the creator. How can I be afraid of myself? Even though I should be at times.
Audience: What man is trying to accomplish by going to the moon has long been accomplished by other entities who appear to us as spacemen. If you read a book by – let us say – Dante or other deceased beings, you enter the mental world of this particular entity. By reading their work we become symbols for the mental state in which that human being was. The symbol has not disappeared. It is still here. It is not possible that you put yourself in rapour with that mind and pick up a connection? In other words, it is advisable when you lecture and speak about a problem, which has been formulated by other entities maybe 2000 years before. If you contemplate and read the philosophers like Dante, Goethe, etc, is there a charge or do these mental forces of these entities are also taught to you in delivering your thoughts? Do you know what I mean?
Luntz: Quite so. You have been dong a great deal of different kind of thinking in the past year. I can tell this by the way you formulate your worlds. There is no doubt that no mind stands alone. We all tune in – or perhaps – to be crude about it – play on another’s reservoir of consciousness. A thought once created is forever and you can contact the mind of another anytime that you really want to. And what would cause you to want to? It would be something specific such as ideas. You are seeing ideas.
You know there have been a number of great thinkers on the earth and you know – they left behind these wonderful thoughts that you must contact, you must incorporate in your thinking. And going into silence every day for 5 or 10 minutes you are picking up these thoughts, the one you know has, in you opinion the best ideas on that subject. And you keep him to pay attention to you, knowing that every thought that has ever been thought is still there in the hereness of your world. Immediately you feel you have an open door. But you cannot use it if you have any suspicion that there is no such thing as continuity of thought. Then you cannot make contact with the great mind and these great thinkers. And you must not have any other worries while you are doing it. You must not permit any other thoughts to intrude upon you. No lingering anxieties, because all of these things become blocks.
Question: Could you shed some light that would be meaningful to us on the subject of Christ?
Luntz: Well, my dear, I can shed some light, but whether the light will be meaningful to you is another story. I will try. Let me ask you first: What do you think Christ is?
Answer: Perfect consciousness.
Luntz: Wonderful! Wonderful! Then you know that Christ could not have died on the cross, because the Christ was not born. IT IS! The man called Jesus was an initiate. His name was not Jesus, but this particular master his name was Asus and as he entered the Hermetic Schools of Greece he was given the name of Asus, the Anointed One. This being came out of India 100 years before anything was mentioned concerning the man called Jesus. He suffered on the Cross to be sure. This was an initiation, not a murder to sway the wrath of the Christian God. It was an initiation whereby the initiate renounced the Jesus-self or the lower emotional self. And he could do this because his knowledge was that great to give him complete understanding to renounce the matter body and gain full control of his Christ Consciousness - or the light - or Wisdom which sets us all free, truly free.
The Christ that came to save man is the Consciousness waking up.
Waking up to Its truly Divine nature. We humans coming here, we put ourselves on the cross of matter and it is beastly painful. We suffer quite horribly. The mind has a way of forgetting pain and remembering pleasure. That is the protective coating.
The Christ Within – to wake IT up is to be born again.
It is to attain the heavenly state. This is why I said earlier, we have no need to be afraid of our destiny. None at all. We are on the way to the light. The Christ has come but we must be aware of it.
Audience: We have experimented with chemicals to produce psychedelic experienced called LSD. Will this help a person with spiritual understanding?
Luntz: This depends upon your emotional content of the person. Some people unfortunately perhaps are by their particular sensitivity subject to ailments of schizophrenia. And this is not a helpful drug to such a person. It creates within him a sense of violence. Before these people are given such a drug or any other drug of that nature, they should be given close psychiatric treatment by a person of understanding. A person of balanced emotional self.
You can get the same positive effect of LSD by a form of breathing which produces some hallucinations, which can be informative to you regarding your nature. In ancient times, ancient civilizations – they would discover ways to obtain states of consciousness without drugs, by power of suggestion and breath, and I think that some of you are aware of this who know Yada.
Question: You were talking about Jesus, the Christ and what you said is not in the bible. I do not understand.
Luntz: No, it is not in the bible in that manner. But it is said that the man Jesus offered his body as a way of appeasing the wrath of God towards his creation. Atonement.
Lady: Atonement, yes.
Luntz: Do you think you could atone for my sins?
Lady: Not me, but Jesus Christ could – because he was God. He was better.
Luntz: How much better?
Lady: He must have been a lot better because he was an initiate.
Luntz: But a high state would not do that sort of thing because he would know the masses, the low consciousness of the masses, which has no comprehension of what he was doing. And therefore he gained nothing by it.
Let us look at Christianity today. Will you show me, Lady, where man – today – believing that one called Jesus the Christ died for him, would act out this belief? Lives this belief?
Lady: Yes, they do.
Luntz: How do they do this? You see, there is something much greater than appears on the surface called the crucifixion, much greater than saying someone, because they lived, and in living you cannot do otherwise than make mistakes. And then ask yourself: What is the nature of my mistake? In reference to what is not my mistake. What is the difference? And how would I know what to do if I had made no attempt to do a thing. And in doing, it - making mistakes, missing the mark. No one can save you from living, can they?
Lady: No, but I believe every one of us is going through a crucifixion - one way or another.
Luntz: Oh, dear, I agree. But I am speaking from the crucifixion from the Christian teachings where a man was murdered on the cross.
Now when I lived on earth, I believed this. I was whole heartedly accepted this thought. Now when I reflect on it, I wonder at myself with what kind of a mind I did accept this kind of teachings. What kind of thinking could I have been doing? But if I am not careful I can get some guilt feelings for that, for thinking like that.
Lady: Jesus was crucified, murdered on the cross because that was the symbol of evil at that time.
Luntz; First I was disturbed by your question but now since you have expressed better I see clearly and it is excellent thinking. I appreciate deeply and I learned something. There are no people high and low that cannot learn something from one another.
It is such a joy to come here to this group. We, of the Circle, thank you deeply for coming and go on seeking. Look everywhere. No one owns it. And while you are looking – have a jolly good night.
